The company was founded Plinian Agricultural Cooperative in 1964 on the initiative of a group of members-only producers of grapes in order to shorten the chain as possible and give greater importance to the production phase.
For over 50 years now, Plinian has been able to create, innovate, confirmed and continued unabated in its growth process.
Today the winery has more than 800 members of the farmers operating in DOC Primitivo di Manduria and is certainly one of the most important production of the entire area.
Pliniana is a large numbers:
- 800 members whose,
- 1500hectares of vineyards owned by the partners (of which 60% are bred to tree),
- 100.000 tons of wine grapes per year of which:
- 70.000 tons of grapes Primitivo Manduria;
- 30.000 tons more grapes: Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, Fiano, Malvasia Bianca.
